Mortality gives rocks
to treasure as truth.
“You use your senses, five of them, to know and learn.”
Rock.
“You feel all through a material body.”
Rock.
“You are alive now but you will die.”
Rock
Rock, rock, rock, rock rock.
And we build.
Some rocks seem precious
Rainbows
and sunsets
(light diffracting through water
drops and atmosphere)
Some rocks disturb us
Hate,
violence, fear
(the
nature of man)
Some rocks are ugly
Disease,
deformity, death
(the
human condition)
But mortality gives us rocks
and if we think they are truth
we build.
We build a tower with our rocks.
We build it high.
We build it strong.
We think that if we build well and high enough
We will finally reach God.
But God knows better.
He sent Jesus with
the lightening of Christ
to strike down our towers.
They are only rubble.
God, the only Truth,
uses love to walk us through
our rubble of rocks.
And as we walk with God
each and every rock
just disappears.
And so it is.
Mortality gives us nothing.
Christ shines the light
and we don’t need to build a tower to God.
God is here.
